About Sandra Muirhead
Hello, my name is Sandra, I'm originally from Manchester uk, I moved to France with my partner Jim. We just moved from Beaucaire in the south east of France, we live on a 1950 first of the line thames motor sailer boat, which is made of mahogany planking and oak ribs.
We started off travelling through France 7 years ago from a little town in the north east called St Jean de Losne, and travelled along the Saone river and the Rhone river met loads of fabulous people, eventually arriving after several weeks and 400km to the slightly bigger ancient town of Beaucaire, where we had been living for the past six and half years. We travelled up the Canal du Midi a couple of years ago, had a great time met more great people also living the boat life. Again we travelled allong the canal de Rhone a Sete, Canal du Midi and the Canal lateral a la Garronne, and discovering how rich France is in fabulous scenery, wildlife and truly ancient town, city and village buildings, eventually reaching our new home, last August in Moissac, famous for its Unesco World Herritage site, Abbey and Cloisters.
I started drawing for pleasure about 30 years ago, I was trained by a very fine artist called Roy, at a night school class. I had my first exhibition in France and sold a few of my drawings plus made some commissions, I have been concentrating on animal portraits and people portraits. I'm now branching out into photography, whist continuing my portraits. I was told about fine art america by my brother, Robin and his girlfriend Isabella who have been members for some time now.
